In 2012, the Non-Governmental Environmental Foundation named after V.I. Vernadsky, Interregional public organization"GREENLIGHT", the Interregional environmental public organization "GREENLIF" was established and implemented International project“Ecological culture. Peace and harmony."
The goal of the International Project is to identify and popularize implemented projects aimed at:
- development of environmental thinking and worldview among various target groups;
- information work on security issues environment, ensuring environmental safety and developing environmental culture;
- restoring and strengthening public health through improving environmental quality;
- implementation and development innovative technologies in the field of environmental protection.
The project is carried out on a charitable basis and does not provide for entrance or organizational fees.
The international project is carried out in the following categories:
- environmental culture in industry and energy;
- environmental education and education;
- environmental education;
- facilities mass media and ecological culture;
- conservation of natural complexes and biodiversity;
- social initiatives aimed at developing environmental culture;
- ecology of health.
In 2019, 650 applications were submitted for consideration by the jury of the International Project, which is a record figure in the entire history of the project. The geography of participants has also expanded significantly - representatives from 73 regions of the country took part in the 2019 competition.
The most active participants in the competition “Ecological Culture. Peace and Harmony" were representatives of the following subjects Russian Federation:
Ivanovo region
Krasnoyarsk region
Kursk region
Moscow
Novosibirsk region
Saint Petersburg
Tomsk region
Khabarovsk region
The largest number of applications came from the Kemerovo region, which received the “Most Active Region” award.
Results of the International Project “Ecological Culture. Peace and Harmony" were announced during solemn ceremony in honor of Ecologist Day on June 5, 2019 in Moscow, at the House of Unions. 44 projects became winners and prize-winners of the competition. High level projects that did not win prizes were awarded gold and silver certificates. Gold certificates and a memorable prize are sent to participants by Russian Post, silver certificates and participant certificates are sent by email.

The project is aimed at identifying implemented projects and ideas that have practical use in the field of formation and development of the ecological culture of the population. Its goal is to preserve a favorable environment, ensure environmental safety, maximize the rational use of natural resources, and popularize the principles of environmental culture.
Every year, more than 400 organizations from the Russian Federation and neighboring countries become participants in the Project. In 2018, the project is being implemented in the following areas: environmental education; environmental education and awareness; conservation of natural complexes and biodiversity; environmental culture in industry and energy; media and environmental culture; health ecology; social initiatives aimed at developing environmental culture.
The result of the project will be the transfer of positive environmental experience to the regions of the Russian Federation. The best projects will be announced on Ecologist Day, during which the winners and runners-up will be awarded.
