Composter 5 cm.
Paper - Whatman paper "Gosznak".
I make these flowers from Korean paper, but in the master class I specifically use whatman paper to make it easier for you to decide on the paper.

Prepare a lot of parts, cut the petals, stack them. Take a spray bottle and squirt water between layers. Knead the stack of paper like a circle of dumpling dough. Check the middle periodically to ensure that the paper is saturated with water.
Or the second option is fast. Place a stack of paper under running water and wet the layers. Remove from water. Use your fingers to distribute the water and wet again until the paper is completely wet. I like the second option better :)
Without squeezing the completely wet paper, proceed to the next step.

Dilute the ink in a small amount of water. Or use a sponge to pick up paint from a pad, dip it in water and squeeze it out. You can use printer ink.

Using a sponge (I have a cosmetic one), using blotting movements (like “smack, smack”), paint the middle of the top layer of the stack, set it aside, then the next layer. So gradually transfer it to the second pile and paint half of it. Don't be put off by excess water and flimsy parts.

Take the second unpainted half of the parts and dip the edges into the paint, barely touching.

Mash the painted stacks of parts with your fingers, distributing the paint evenly. Check the middle, if the paint is not distributed well, spray water with a spray bottle between the layers.

When you are finished coloring, squeeze out the water thoroughly with a cloth.
Clamping the stack at one end, dry the parts with a hairdryer on all sides until almost dry.Do not usehair dryer for embossing.

Fold the part. When assembling the accordion, make folds.
Holding the piece approximately in the middle with your fingers, pinch the edge with tweezers. Gently turn the tweezers only until the paper slides out. If the paper tears, then dry the parts with a hairdryer. And vice versa, if the folds are not soft, moisten them.

Adjust the folds by pinching the corner with your fingers.

Gently straighten the part and leave to dry.

When the first set aside parts have dried out. you can make specks.
Take a black ink pad. Better with water resistant ink. A brush with short, stiff bristles (I used one from a vacuum cleaner to clean the filter; you can pull out a tuft of bristles from the brush).
Holding the brush vertically, make speckles with a dotted motion.

While the parts have not yet dried completely, using a ruler with circles and a tool, make a depression in the center, lowering the petals onto the ruler.
Leave the parts to dry completely.

Glue the parts together by pressing the tool in the center.

Make a hole with an awl. Fold the stamens in half using wire.

Drag the stamens to the middle, using a ruler with a hole so as not to deform the flower. Apply glue so that when you cut off the excess, the stamens do not fall out. Lower the stamens to the desired length, gluing them to the flower.

This is the result with coloring in the center and along the edges. There are actually a lot of options and each flower will be unique. Doing a lot at once, step by step, is very convenient and in much less time than if you do one flower at a time. The process is very exciting and not complicated, it’s boring to just insert the stamens. While I was preparing for the master class, I got so carried away that in 3 days I made a huge pile of flowers - 236 pieces. Enough for a whole year or two :)

It is convenient to store flowers by threading the wire through the loops of the stamens. For work, having chosen the appropriate ones, I simply cut them off.

Spot painting, which is also called point-to-point, is very similar in appearance to embroidery. Despite its apparent simplicity, this technique is quite complex to perform and requires careful design and concentration. Most often using this artistic technique decorate dishes, mugs, glass objects, mirrors, boxes, and make paintings.

Dot painting, also called point-to-point, is very similar in appearance to embroidery

This painting involves the use of a certain drawing technique. You can study it using the following instructions:

  1. The outline should be placed vertically, held in your hands like a pen.
  2. You need to bring the tube to the desired place on the product, and then lightly press it with your fingers. After this, a droplet will appear on the spout, connecting to the surface of the object.
  3. The spout should not touch the surface to be decorated. This will allow you to depict a smooth and uniform point.
  4. After the point has been reached the right size, the pressure on the spout ends and the contour is torn away from the product in the vertical direction.
  5. In a similar way, the entire drawing is worked out with contours by creating chains of even dots.

It is not recommended to tear the outline to the side, since such a movement will distort the depicted element and create an unnecessary blot on the surface to be decorated. When working with different colors, you must first complete the chain of one shade, and only then move on to the next. Continue this technique until the end of the work.

Spot painting for beginners: training on simple forms

In order to master the point-to-point technique, the first step is to decorate a simple shape. You can use a star made of glass, plaster, plastic, wood or leather. You can practice on plain paper.

Step-by-step instructions for beginners:

  1. The blank is coated with gold acrylic paint. If necessary, the surface should be degreased before applying paint - when working on glass, ceramics, plastic, leather.
  2. After the base tone has dried, the star is decorated using contours. To do this, you can choose red, warm yellow and white.
  3. Small white dots are placed along the contour of the star at a distance of 2 millimeters from each other. The diameter of each point is approximately 1.5 millimeters.
  4. Next, another row of dots is drawn with a contour of the same color: each dot is placed next to the element of the previous row, separated by 1 millimeter. The diameter of the point increases to 1.7-1.9 millimeters.
  5. Then the next row places points between the elements of the previous row.
  6. On the 4th row, the color must be changed to yellow. The points are placed in 3 rows in the same way.
  7. Layers 7-9 are done in red.
  8. The entire figure should be filled in the same way, with 1 dot placed in the middle.

In order to master the point-to-point technique, the first step is to decorate a simple shape

To decorate the star, you can use more complex patterns, for example, dividing the shape into 5 diamond-shaped elements.

Spot painting of plates: master class

For painting you will need the following materials:

  • cotton pad;
  • degreaser;
  • contour acrylic paints;
  • aerosol varnish;
  • dishes.

Dot painting looks very impressive when decorating plates.

Master Class:

  1. Before work, be sure to work out a sketch, which is transferred to a low-fat product using a simple pencil. If drawing a sketch yourself is too complicated, you can use ready-made diagrams.
  2. Next, work begins with acrylic contours.
  3. The first step is to draw large points and elements.
  4. After the large dots have dried, you can begin to depict more small elements. That is, the work should be carried out according to the principle from the general to the specific.
  5. The work should end in chains of the smallest elements located at the closest possible distance from each other.
  6. You can go the other way, drawing the ornament from the center, gradually moving towards the edges.
  7. After all the paints have dried, the product needs to be coated acrylic varnish. If baked paints were used, the plate should be placed in the oven and maintained at a temperature of 150-170 degrees for the time specified in the instructions for the circuit. After this, the product does not need to be varnished.

To work, you need to choose a small number of colors. The best option 1-4 shades are considered.

Spot painting on glass: oriental patterns

Oriental patterns drawn using the dotted pique technique look impressive on glass and ceramic surfaces. Most often they are depicted on decorative plates, mirrors, vases, and also on tableware. Such elements will be an excellent addition to the interior, and will also create a special oriental atmosphere in it.

Oriental patterns in dot painting on glass and ceramics have the following features:

  • rhythm;
  • repetition of elements;
  • the individual elements are: abstract forms, stylized objects;
  • the most common elements: rosette, birds, world tree, leaves, cones, Turkish cucumber, paisley;
  • A distinctive feature of oriental patterns is the carpet filling of the surface.

It is worth considering that the elements of oriental ornaments vary depending on the country of their origin. For example, in India, the image contains flower garlands, birds, animals, and a “cucumber”. In China, popular pictures are peaches, cicadas, dragons, peonies, and butterflies.

What colors to choose?

The dot painting technique requires the use of acrylic paints. Paints should be chosen in outline format. They are available in a wide color palette, as well as with various effects, for example, containing glitter, pearlescent, metallic.

If it is necessary to use a decorated piece of utensils for its intended purpose, it is necessary to give preference to baked paints. You can recognize them by their inscriptions:

  • dishwasher ability;
  • dishwasher resistant.

Spot painting technique requires the use of acrylic paints

In addition to conventional contour paints, baked contours are produced by the following companies:

  • Hobby Line Kreul;
  • Decola;
  • Marabu;
  • Pebeo Vitrail.

It is worth considering that paints that are optimal for use should have the consistency of low-fat sour cream.

What can replace contours with?

Unfortunately, acrylic contour paints are quite expensive, so many craftswomen tend to replace them with ordinary ones. acrylic paints, which are identical in composition to tube ones. To avoid buying expensive paints, you can use the following tips:

  1. You can use dots in painting. The only negative feature of this method is that the dots must be constantly dipped in paint.
  2. If you don’t want to constantly dip dots in paint, you can make a tube with your own hands. To do this, make a cone from plastic bag. It is best to use plastic milk cartons for these purposes. Paint is poured into the resulting cone with a small hole at the end, which is squeezed out for dotting in exactly the same way as from a tube.
  • patterns for cross stitch or mosaic weaving with beads;
  • beautiful patterns on fabrics (neck scarves in Oriental, Moroccan or African styles, imitation colors of various animals, floral motifs, etc.);
  • crocheted openwork napkins or patterns for crocheting them;
  • ethnic ornaments and patterns printed in a suitable size on paper (you can use books on traditions and ethnic embroidery;
  • paper napkins or decoupage cards.

Inspiration in the search for patterns and ornaments can be found in the cultures of different nations: oriental mosques are famous for their floral patterns; in cathedrals you can borrow patterns from stained glass roses. A lot of useful information and diagrams can be found in various books on the history and construction of ornaments among different peoples.

Spot painting with contours: ready-made diagrams and stencils

Depending on the shape and size of the object, it is worth choosing a pattern. The simplest in execution and universal in purpose are simple geometric shapes. If you have never done dot painting before, start by drawing circles onto flat surface rectangular shape - a cover for a passport or a case for a mobile phone. By composing an ornament from simple shapes - circles, triangles, squares and lines of different colors, you can achieve very interesting results. To achieve maximum effect, you just need to choose the right contour colors.

More complex circular and linear ornaments. To perform them, the surface of the product must first be prepared - apply barely noticeable marking lines with a pencil. If the work is to be done on a transparent glass surface, you can secure the sketch of the design on the back side with tape.

A large number of drawing schemes for dot painting can be found on the Internet. Here are just a few options for different items:

For the plates (most round designs, mandalas for coloring, etc. will work):

Oriental patterns (one of the most popular options is the Indian paisley cucumber in various combinations):

For glasses and bottles (light airy ornaments in the form of curls, or “seamless” linear patterns)

For various accessories (glasses cases, pencil cases, covers mobile phones, wallets and business card holders):

Working with diagrams

If the chosen pattern is counted (for cross stitch or bead embroidery), then you need to use a special glass pencil to mark the main axes (horizontal, vertical, center of the pattern) on the surface of the product. And start working based on these guidelines. It is better to start drawing vertical and horizontal patterns from the top line, from the central point to the sides - this way you will be able to maintain symmetry and follow the pattern. It is better to move round or figured motifs from the center of the picture to the sides, filling them with sectors.

If any non-countable pattern (fabric, paper, plastic) is used in the form of a diagram, then it is very convenient to secure it under the surface to be processed. Masking tape is suitable for this. Next, taking advantage of the transparency of the glass, it is enough to outline the main contours with a thin line of paint (you can also use a special pencil). When choosing paint for the outline, consider whether it will be too contrasting and flashy, and whether the fill dots will cover it. After the sketch has dried, you can start filling in the elements with dots.

It is important to be sure to let each color and row of dots dry, otherwise the drawing may become blurred or merge into untidy blots. In this way, you can transfer the design to flat plates or photo frames, and to more complex objects (vases, glasses, etc.). In the second case, the selected circuit is placed and secured inside the vessel.

To work in the dot painting technique, a special paint is used - acrylic contours. Contour differs from ordinary acrylic paints in its packaging - most often these are metal (less often plastic) tubes of small volume with a thin long spout, which is very convenient for dotting. In addition to packaging, contours differ in consistency - they are usually thicker, and in their ability to hold their shape - ideally, the contour does not settle, and the resulting dots retain their volume, giving the finished work a relief that is pleasant to the touch.

In order not to spoil the work, a new tube of contour must be tested on a small piece of wood or glass. Try putting different sized dots on them and see how the paint behaves on the surface. Sometimes a completely fresh contour can be put in the refrigerator for an hour or two before work - this way it becomes thicker and does not spread. And, of course, don’t forget to clean the long plastic spout from dried paint. The most convenient way to do this is with a sewing needle or a piece of thin metal wire.

The surface of the product on which the spot painting will be applied must be prepared for work. First of all, clean with a degreaser or alcohol. Then paint it in the desired color according to the plan and cover it with 2-3 layers of varnish. Contour paints are a finishing material, i.e. do not require fixing with varnish or other compounds.

Painting is a pattern applied using a specific technique and style on various items of decorative and applied art. One of simple types painting is dot painting. For beginning artists, you can practice on paper before painting objects. Dot painting is a scattering of drops along the contour of the design, collecting an image like a mosaic of beads or rhinestones.

A dot pattern can be made using varnishes, paints applied to a thin stick, or a pencil. But of course the easiest way to apply a design is with durable acrylic paints, especially since these days paints can be purchased in a special tube with a cone tip, sold under the name contour. It was originally intended for painting on glass, to limit spreading stained glass paints. It produces dotted “rhinestones” mainly on glass, plastic and other smooth and hard surfaces.

Contours on dishes

Painting objects with dots has its own sequence in work. To learn how to make beautiful things using this technique, we will conduct a short master class and at the end we will provide several pattern diagrams.

So, first of all, we select the surface that we will paint.

Usually they paint dishes, bottles, cups, plates, boxes, figures, plastic surfaces of computer accessories, keyboards and mice, laptop covers, leather surfaces of passport covers and so on.

Before starting work, the surface must be degreased with a cotton swab containing alcohol or ordinary wet wipes. It is most convenient to work with glass, because on the reverse side you can attach a sketch of a drawing on paper and draw along the lines.

For example, MK "Painting glasses for a wedding."

We will need ordinary glasses, tracing paper, a pen, cotton pads and swabs, contour paint for glass and ceramics.

A pattern is drawn on tracing paper and secured to the inside of the walls with water or tape. Apply drops along the contours of the pattern.

You can draw arbitrarily on opaque surfaces, and in order to achieve the correct geometric shapes, you need to carefully draw lines manually or using stencils, cutting out the desired patterns from paper, be it a straight line or a bend, and attaching them with tape. Now you can paint along the edges.

If your product will have patterns with repeating fragments, then the use of stencils and templates is mandatory, prepare necessary forms in advance.

Spot painting with contours can be combined with lines and other ready-made designs. Cover the entire space or just some part of the item. Frame it with a frame, make a background for a central item, or give it volume.

Drawing errors are corrected with cotton pads, swabs moistened with alcohol or wet wipes.

Drawing styles

The use of paintings in different styles gives an ordinary item a certain theme. This is very convenient if you are creating a special interior design for your home. Interestingly, the most famous styles and ornaments were historically created by folk craftsmen and housewives of various territories, and now every corner of the world has its own business card, in the form of colors and patterns. Let's take a short trip through the world of ornaments.

Use elements of Slavic folk ornaments in your works. There are many types of paintings with specific techniques and colors. You can create a set of dishes in a certain design style, using fragments of patterns that have been established in history. Use their embroidery patterns in your work.

Using this technique of drawing and applying ethnic patterns, you can create dishes and other household items in an Oriental or African interior style.

Spot painting can also be done with ordinary acrylic paints with brushes, but such drawings can be done by experienced craftsmen.

Very often they use painting of stones with mandala or drawings of animals. Such stones are used as a talisman and amulet in the home and serve as decoration.
