Introduction

Veterinary medicine is a field of scientific knowledge and practical activities, aimed at preventing animal diseases and their treatment, monitoring the production of complete and veterinary-safe animal products and protecting the population from diseases common to humans and animals.

The main functions of veterinary medicine are to prevent, treat and control the spread of animal diseases. Today, disease prevention is carried out through vaccination, treatment through drugs and surgery, and control through quarantine (isolation of infected animals), increased requirements for cleanliness and hygiene, and euthanasia (painless killing of sick animals).

Veterinary medicine combines three conventionally distinguished groups of disciplines:

1) veterinary-biological, studying the formation and vital activity of healthy and sick animals, pathogens, the effect of medicinal methods on the body (normal and pathological morphology and physiology of animals, veterinary microbiology, virology, pharmacology, etc.);

3) veterinary and sanitary, studying the effects on the body external factors and problems of optimizing the habitat of animals, as well as improving the quality of products and raw materials of animal origin (animal hygiene, veterinary sanitation, veterinary and sanitary examination). Veterinary medicine is closely related to animal science, medicine, chemistry, biology and other sciences. Today, the industry of private veterinary clinics, which provide the population with wide range from the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of small domestic and exotic animals. Therefore, it is relevant to study and analyze the organization and economics of a private veterinary clinic.

Veterinary medicine is a system of state, economic, and public measures to protect animals from diseases, provide them with effective medical care in order to preserve and increase livestock, increase the quantity and improve the quality of livestock products, as well as protect the population from diseases common to animals and humans.

The main tasks of veterinary medicine are:

· prevention and elimination of quarantine and especially dangerous animal diseases;

· control over compliance by enterprises, institutions, organizations and citizens with the veterinary legislation of the Russian Federation;

· protection of the territory of the Russian Federation from the introduction of infectious animal diseases from foreign countries;

· implementation of state veterinary and departmental veterinary and sanitary supervision.

While studying the course on the organization and economics of veterinary affairs, we get acquainted with veterinary legislation, regulatory documents regulating the activities of veterinary specialists in accordance with the above tasks, and learn to work on the basis of instructions and rules. In the process of practical training, analyzing the situation at a specific facility, we acquire practical skills and knowledge in organizing veterinary activities.

1. Literature review

“...Developed and adopted administrative regulations ensure high efficiency of application of administrative procedures in the implementation of government functions, standards for the provision of public veterinary services, an increase in the number of scheduled inspections, increasing the efficiency of state veterinary supervision in the territory (of the Republic of Mari El), as well as the application of the requirements of current legislation in the field of veterinary medicine at the local level...” as reported by Sabiryanov A.F. and Vavilov V.V. (2013).

“...In the Russian Federation and its constituent entities, continuous legislative and rule-making activities in the field of veterinary medicine are carried out by executive authorities in the field of veterinary medicine. In the Udmurt Republic for 2010-2011, the following were prepared and adopted: administrative regulations of the Main Directorate of Veterinary Medicine for the implementation government functions to consider citizens' appeals, conduct inspections to ensure compliance legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and citizens, the requirements of regulatory (legal) acts for keeping, catching, harvesting animals and handling products of animal origin, feed and feed additives controlled by the state veterinary service, the algorithm of actions of the state veterinary service of the republic in the event of the occurrence of infectious diseases on the territory of the Udmurt Republic. The listed regulatory legal documents have been developed and implemented by specialists from the state veterinary inspection…” as Burdov L.G. writes (2013).

During my internship at the private veterinary clinic "ANIMA", it was discovered that infectious diseases were widespread among homeless people, as well as domestic animals, such as chlamydia in cats, mycoplasmosis, leptospirosis and listeriosis in dogs. Chlamydia in cats is most widespread in the epizootic focus of the Primorsky region.

In their article, Sochnev V.V., Medova E.V., Pashkina Yu.V. (2014) write “...In populations of subpopulations of dogs and cats in urban conditions last years Chlamydial infection has become very widespread, transmitted by contact, fecal-oral and sexual tracts with pronounced destructive and inflammatory processes. During epizootological experiments, we established that the reservoir and source of the pathogen for an indefinitely long time are infected animals actively used in breeding, as well as stray animals...”

“...In the course of complex epizootological studies, we found that in the conditions of St. Petersburg, spontaneous chlamydia of carnivores in 55-60% of cases occurs as a mixed infection, primarily with mycoplasmosis, and the manifestation of the combined manifestation of these infections in the population of carnivores turns out to be more pronounced, the course of the mixed infection is more heavy..."

“...An epidemiological study revealed the leading role in the spread of the causative agent of chlamydial infection in males and females actively used in breeding, as well as stray animals. They confirmed the main role of the horizontal transmission route of the causative agent of chlamydia in the population (sexual transmission), as well as the possibility of a vertical (in case of intrauterine infection) transmission route...”

The market price of one cat is 7000

Treatment costs 63000

Potential lethality 35%

Define economic efficiency therapeutic measures per 1 ruble of expenses

PU - prevented damage as a result of treating sick animals is the difference between the possible economic damage from mortality and actual damage

Conclusion: carrying out preventive measures for feline chlamydia is cost-effective. The efficiency is 0.33 rubles per 1 ruble of costs.

Conclusion

Having examined the organization of work and management, I made the following conclusions:

1) The organization and management of the clinic are at a high level

2) The clinic team works harmoniously, knows how to conduct a conversation with clients, give certain advice to owners, and share their knowledge and experience

3) Clinic maintenance costs top level, new drugs are in stock, the clique pharmacy is well equipped

To improve the quality of patient care, I can offer:

Hire a second assistant for doctors, another administrator, send staff to improve their qualifications (courses, seminars, conferences), expand the network of veterinary clinics, and attract students to undergo internships. Make an appointment with a specialist for planned surgical operations. Timely update surgical materials, medications, replenish the pharmacy, etc.

Recently, licensing of veterinary activities in the Russian Federation was abolished; this simplified the procedure for organizing their own veterinary business for qualified people and created competition between veterinary clinics. But this can also lead to the development of the opposite situation, when supply will exceed demand, or the quality of the services provided will be at a low level.

In conclusion, it should be noted that in connection with the rapid development of veterinary entrepreneurship in the last decade legislative framework, relating to this area of veterinary medicine, and needs to be refined and strengthened.
