What to do is not necessary, because simple solutions to this problem are known, two of them are under the cut.
Method one . Just go back to the previous "ad-free" version of the program (build 3.6 can be downloaded from the blog Catalog of rating software), by deleting the existing 3.7 . At the end of the procedure, do not forget to disable automatic updates KMP, via the hotkey " F2"→ in settings" General"on tab" On startup..."Uncheck the box next to the item" Auto-check for updates" (screenshot below).
Method two . Does not require uninstalling the software, but requires some caution in actions.
First, check that the logo (emblem) of the existing built-in theme (cover) is standard. To do this, right-click on the player window → in the drop-down menu select " Covers" → "Emblem" → "Standard cover logo".
Secondly, in order to remove the last “brakes” at startup, you should prohibit KMPlayer access to the Internet. This can be easily done by editing the system file hosts , about which I wrote in detail. With administrator rights in Notepad, open this file located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc, and add the line
127.0.0.1 player.kmpmedia.net
What should happen is in the last screenshot. Then, after saving, close the file and restart your favorite media player - now it, as before, starts up quickly and without any advertising.
Important!
Since the first solution to the problem, with “rolling back” to one of the previous versions, is a dead end, I recommend immediately trying the second option with editing the file hosts.

KMPlayer can play well-known formats such as mp4, avi, wmv, mkv, 3gp and others. In this regard, the player has the ability to play not only films in modern HD and 4K resolution, but also various old videos created homemade, mostly in avi format.
I myself have been using this player for 15 years, if not more. The player is really good, and free. Which is already a big plus! But modern versions of this program a few years ago had a big drawback - a lot of advertising!
I understand that advertising is the engine of progress and so on. I myself use contextual advertising to earn money. But it’s one thing – not intrusive contextual advertising, and it’s completely different when advertising flickers, distracts, and so on.
Previously, when you launched this player, it simply played the video you wanted and there were no ads. Now, in new versions of the program, when you launch the player, a window opens on the right, which the user does not need at all, but in which there is a lot of advertising. Also, there are a lot of advertisements in the main window.
This is very distracting and makes you lose the desire to use this player. This player contains more advertising than the well-known UTorrent program (it also allows advertising).
Step 1
Find the program " Notebook" To do this, enter " notepad" and run it as administrator, as shown in the example:

Then save it and close. Restart KMP player - no more advertising.
* this method has a slight drawback, kmplayer will start up a little slower than before, since at this time it will try to access the Internet.
P.S. On many sites, in order to disable advertising in KMPlayer on the start window, it is recommended to go through the menu to “Cover” - “Emblem” and select the standard logo there. IN latest version player this setting“crashes” immediately after it is restarted, so I did not describe this method.
